Trained Dogs Have More Fun!

Rescue Dog Training Lottery

One of the main goals of our mission at Leash Free Living is to create a strong community to foster growth in dog and owner relationships. Recently, we’ve felt compelled to become more engaged in our local rescue community, and support owners that are adopting from organizations around us that are working tirelessly to get dogs into homes. To address this, we’ve created a rescue dog training lottery.

Starting in May, we are launching the Beginner Group Class [BGC] Lottery for adopted dogs. Owners can enter their dog in the lottery each month for a chance to win a free spot in the upcoming BGC. Entry into the lottery is free, and open to new, current and past clients. We will save one spot in each class for a dog from the lottery to attend.

We hope that this scholarship opens up some opportunity and interest for rescue dogs to receive training. Training is a great way to teach dogs to live easily with us, and build a strong relationship with them. It is also a great form of enrichment and socialization for them.

Since it is a group class, the training format has limited flexibility, and is done in close proximity to other people and dogs. This is a great option for for young, exuberant dogs, first time dog owners, high maintenance breeds, dogs that need to build confidence, etc.

How to Enter:

  • Confirm that you can attend the upcoming Beginner Group Class.
  • Enter your dog via this Google Form.
  • Create a profile on our client portal.
  • Check your email one week before the start of class to see if you’ve won the rescue dog training lottery!

Dogs with more severe behavior problems, reactivity or aggression problems would be better suited for a more customizable program (Lessons, Dog School, or Tag-Along). If you are struggling with those problems, reach out to us to set up an evaluation for your dog!

Owners will have two days to accept the scholarship. If a winner does not accept their scholarship in that time frame, a new winner will be selected. Dogs must be registered on the client portal to receive a group class scholarship. If the winning dog is already enrolled in a class, their class tuition will be refunded towards store credit on their account.
