Walk & Train at Laurel Riverfront Park
Sunday, July 12th from 10am – 11am
Join us for a training-focused group walk to practice your dog’s obedience skills! This park is mostly shaded, but moving the training to Savage Mill is our back-up plan if the weather is too hot (watch your texts prior to the event). There are places that you can easily access the shallow river, it you want your dogs to take a swim afterwards!

Yappy Hour at Libations Tavern in Millersville
Saturday, July 18th from 3pm – 4:30pm
Libations has a lovely covered, private patio that allows us to have a lovely time eating, drinking and being merry with other dog folks while helping our dogs learn to settle amidst distractions. (Although you may want to bring a personal fan, as it is still an outdoor patio in the middle of summer!)

Canine Games at Millersville
Saturday, July 25th from 3pm – 4pm
Come practice your dog’s response to basic obedience commands while having a little fun in the AC at Leash Free Living Millersville. If your dog is more advanced, don’t worry, we can step things up for you!
While doing the games, we need to have only 1 dog per handler, but if you want to bring multiple dogs you may crate & rotate so you can practice a bit with all the members of your pack!

River Tubing on the Shenandoah River – Sign-ups required by July 30th.
Sunday, August 2nd from 3pm – 6pm
Named in the top 5 tubing rivers in the Nation by USA Today’s Reader’s Choice, the Shenandoah River (located 5 miles upriver from Harpers Ferry, WV) offers a serene and scenic float at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This 1-2 hour mellow tubing rental & shuttle is convenient and easy fun for all ages.
Last year many of us went just down the road to White Horse Tavern for dinner, which we may do again if possible!
** Cost: $45 per human tube & $30 per dog tube (This includes a 10% tip that LFL will take care of).
River & Trail Outfitters will provide a tether to tie your dog’s tube to yours, but you must bring your own life vest for your dog.
1 dog per handler recommended (It is close quarters on the shuttle bus, so please bring what you need for the ride, a 2nd handler, a muzzle, etc.). Bring poop bags, water for dog & you, sunscreen & of course all dogs must be leashed. Shoes are required on all trips. No Flip flops, slides or bare feet are allowed.
We will meet at 99 Cary Lu Circle Harpers Ferry WV by the portable rock wall at 3:00pm sharp.

Looking for more fun things to do with your dog? Every Saturday from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM, now through November 7th, the Edgewater Tractor Supply Store on I3059 Solomons Island Road will be hosting the Davidsonville Farmer’s Market. Both the farmer’s market & Tractor Supply are dog friendly and it’s a great opportunity to work your dog around some real life distractions!

We highly recommend your dog to be fully vaccinated. We currently require all dogs to have their Distemper, Rabies, and Bordetella to participate in our classes and events.
