Biking with dogs!
July 16 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am
Looking for a new way to exercise your dogs? Join us for a bike ride on Sunday, July 16th at 9:00 am. We will meet at Quiet Waters Park in the parking lot by the Dogwood Pavilion/Blue Heron Center. There are a limited number of bike rentals available. If you will need a bike, please let me know before hand! Cost is $10/hour. Of course, if you have your own bike please bring it along.
This activity is best suited for dogs who have completed off-lead material, but if you have a dog that you think is not likely to pull you off the trail, come along! Little dogs can easily be carried in a backpack or carrier if you have one.
Please be sure to bring plenty of water for you and your dog. The pavement shouldn’t be too hot since we are meeting in the morning, but if your dogs aren’t used to walking and exercising on rough surfaces, take it easy and be aware that their pads can wear down on the pavement and become sore. Mushers Secret, or boots can be helpful for those dogs. We can also accommodate them by encouraging them to run off the side of the path and on the grass. I don’t anticipate that we will be biking for long distances on Sunday so I wouldn’t worry too much about this.
This event is free, but there is a $6 fee to get into the park, and a $10/hour rental fee if you plan on renting a bike. Again, if you need a bike PLEASE LET ME KNOW so I can make sure they have enough for us when we go.
